Cooled Flea Market #1
This past weekend, the first ever Cooled Flea Market took place at the Cali Dumpling Headquarters in South El Monte. This is something that was months in the planning when Allan first came to me wanting to do an event at his space. Instead of doing a traditional Cars and Coffee, I wanted to do something a bit more productive and I ended up pitching an idea based on the long time running Pomona Swap Meet but in a JDM|EURO fashion for the newer generation.
I called up some of the boys to see if they would be down to participate in a flea market and once a few of them were down, I ended up moving forward with marketing the event.
Oddly enough, there ended up being over 20 events last weekend so the Socal Car Community was definitely spread pretty thin but the 2 hour flea market had a great crowd and filled the space nicely.
We had a great variety of vendors selling new stuff like Jay V selling model cars of the best enthusiast spec'd cars to guys like Jose Type R selling rare Honda parts that have been collecting in the corner of his warehouse.
Julio Torres was able to bless people with this charming little thing as he cranked her up to load her on the back of the Mercedes Unimog. Got all the boys in the yard gathering with their jaws on the ground.
Thank you to everyone who made it out and enjoyed a day of cars, parts and friendship. I am sure we will have a part II coming up very soon. Thank you to everyone involved, thank you to Cali Dumping for their venue and glad we got to do this!
