Midnight Hangs - Sept 2024
I had a last minute gathering to bring car owners and content creators together during the week to network and have some fun. Sent out some invites and people gathered, we hung out and created some good stuff.
We met at Leen Customs HQ where we hung out before heading to one of two locations that I planned out with Chazzydawg at the event. Things are always on the fly for me, that is what makes things interesting... never know what is going to happen.
Although it just happened to be Porsche heavy, we did have some homies that came out with their JDM whips. Teddy Timoteo from MasterCraft Unlimited brought out his ek build. If you have never seen it, just know it is one of the best builds out there. Sergio from Ukiyo Visuals invited his buddy Kevin (@visionproject.86) who owns this S13 that coincidently matched the ek's paint code. They looked good next to each other.
We had plenty of red and white cars come out. Allan's 991 GT3, Ken's 997 Carrera, Abraham's AE86 Levin, Jackie's JDM Prelude, Jeff's Clown Shoe M, Viet's 911 Targa and Binh's 996 Turbo with a Advan livery.
Always good to see one of my day one homies, Jason Mendieta come out and hang late nights. His 964 has gone through many shifts and looking good in Talbot Yellow, although in the edit it looks more like Blossom yellow.
Julio is always out driving a gem and that night he brought out the legendary Subaru 22b looking like a blueberry cherry! Seeing below talking to Chazzy about some future event if I were to guess.
Now that everyone has gathered, it was time for us to roll out to one of two of the locations we spotted. What you don't see here is that we were headed towards Dodger's stadium and a game was just ending. So the traffic was insane and our first location was filled with LAPD so we had to reshuffle to location 2. A lot of group got lost in the shuffle but eventually made their way
The view was amazing although we had a lot of blockage from all of the trees. If the landscape was clear, we were able to see Dodger's stadium with the skyline right behind it. You could also see the 110 fwy bumper to bumper traffic.
This location was dark and normally if you want to light paint, that is what you want but between all the traffic driving through and so many people standing around, it was a perfect time to experiment vs trying to perfect a shot.
One of my favorite shots from the night came when Viet and Ken were about to leave to go eat pho at midnight and I caught them warming up their cars and I was able to capture Ken looking like he was a plasma ray from Viet's headlights. Capcom vs Marvel 2 vibes!
Around 1:30am, we called it a night. This was the night as we were coming off a major heatwave and it got chilly super fast. I cleaned out my car so I had no sweater and I found myself shivering and that is when we knew, it was time.
All in all, it was a blast and for next month's midnight gathering, I want to mob on the freeway when it is all empty so it should be good times.
Thank you for hanging out and if you need prints of any of the images you see here, hit me up to order one! Thanks for the support
