Pizza Run DTLA - Sept 2023

Pre Meet

Leen Customs "The Loading Dock"

This past Thursday afternoon, Angel from Art of Attack and I got together to bring some friends together to hang, eat and shoot. Car people don't need much of a reason to get together and have a good time.

We made our way to Leen Customs new HQ in DTLA to pre meet and check out the late afternoon vibes. A curated group of JDM and European modded cars lined the rustic street as local businesses were loading up and heading home from a long day of work.

Here we have Hansel from Leen Customs checking out Jason Mendieta's Porsche Talbot Yellow 964 with the various upgrades he has done to since he has done a complete make over on it recently. Hansel having bought a 964 last year, has been getting inspired to do his own mods on his C4.

Interesting to see my NSX tucked all the way down due to the uneven pavment. Actually doesn't look terrible although I am usually not a fan of slammed cars of this nature but I will let this one slide for this moment lol.

Geoffrey Pascual's 997.2 GT3 Cup Spec

We had the pleasuer of seeing a rare sight when Type R Jose brought out his ultra clean and rare EVO IX MR due to my request. Later on the day we find out why this proved to be so worth it. Cleannnnn!

We gathered around 6:30pm and about an hour later, we all took off to jump on the 6th Street Viaduct to capture some bridge vibes.

6th Street Viaduct

Mini Shoot

Driving and shooting isn't very easy and doing it with little light is just that much tougher. Good thing I had my son Calvin with me this day to help steer why I stuck my arms out the window to capture some of the scene.

We ended up doing one rotation on the bridge and parked for a short time to grab some photos. It got a bit "spirited" on the bridge but promise we were good boys doing nothing illegal.

Pizza Nista Arts District

Good hangs always associated with good eats

Dinner was right down the street at one of my favorite pizza joints, Pizza Nista. Nista has all of the vibes with its unique space and amazing food. NYC pizza in these LA streets is one of the best combos for car and food peeps.

PIzza Nista has both thin NYC style slices along with Sicilian square slices for those who want it all.

Figueroa Terrace

View of the LA Skyline

We ended up finishing up the night with a second location to shoot. Up in the hills of Figueroa Terrace, there are streets lined with a great vantage point of the LA Skyline. Chazzydawg lead the way where we met up with other LA film photographers and rapper Xavier Wulf.

We ended up clogging up the street and called it night right before LAPD rolled up to kick everyone out and the GhettoBird to light us out safely lol... all in all, a beautiful night and a wonderful time with so many people in the car space.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to our last minute gathering and we can't wait to do it again very soon. Stay tuned!
